Multi-Family

Starting with URBANbuild15, students were allowed the opportunity to explore multi-family applications of an URBANbuild prototype after the mid-review. The sites of these explorations include New Orleans, Kansas City and Phoenix. Students in the URBANbuild15 and URBANbuild16 studios approached the multi-family assembly as a speculative exercise in which identical units with some adjustments to layout are replicated and stacked side-by-side. For URBANbuild17, the approach comprised of creating a zoning strategy and masterplan that would be implemented for aggregating individually-designed units over the course of 3-4 years.
